This movie is awesome, I agree!
My 10 year old son & my 9 year old daughter saw this movie for the first time last night. They absolutely loved it! After almost 25 years(!!)this movie is still good! I was 14 when this movie came out & loved this song so much. I didn't see the movie 'til it was shown on HBO LOL! I must say this, however, a few great films of this genre has been released since 84:Chronicles of Narnia & Lord of The Rings. They have young children portrayed in those movies as well.

You should see Noah Hathaway nowadays! WOW HE IS A HOTTIE. I never realized he only a year younger than me. When I saw this movie when I was a teenager, I thought he was just a little boy. LOL!

no i got your point, but defending this film is an excersize in futility it sucked bollocks but, unfortunately the people that are now 40 and over think this film is a masterpiece well i guess the same could be said for the phantom menace and the two other series that followed it those were meant for children too.

No, you missed the point of the film. Sure, it has a dodgy script, some hammy acting and 80's special effects. But the point of the film is to go beyond the real world, don't keep your feet on the ground. Lose yourself in the fantasy because that's what keeps us young.

Heck yeah, I started to share the like of Bugs Bunny, The Wiz and a few other greats from when I was a kid....I got a bigger kick just watching my kids watch the movie....almost brings a tear to my eye. Love is such a wonderful thing!

wrong the point of this film was to get young children to read the nothing represented illitaracy i was only 11 when this came out and i understood that message in the film why is every one else so thick? anyway this movie sucked bollocks the luck dragon looked like an oversize poodle, the kids in the film were anoying and dull, and the creatures were mediocrity incarnate. the only thing i liked about this film was its ending.

you can tell ethnically he is not only Jewish but also Asian. Just look! I think its a good mix. He is pretty cute. Not my style of clothes he wears but his bone structure is hot!
