The original mac's were ok, but I think they would look a lot better made of traditional materials. Still, it was a very smart move separating Apple from the rest of the competition and targeting younger buyers. My favorite mac will always be the g4. :)

i think its kind of close-minded that thinking everyone is going to be satisfied with 15" inch display and only 1024x768, i have same era PC with 17" inch display and (ATI RAGE AIW) 1280x1024 display. lol, there goes mac again making limitations for its customers. actually my pc is more like 2002/2001. but still.

Well then check out the iMAC G4 17inch and then the iMAC g5 from about 2004 witch the 20inch display. No limitations - You could always buy a PowerMAC witch much more better performance then Your PC ever had. Period.
i guess so but ... ( 5 days ago by DeepGlue555)
i guess so but thats a $2400 upgrade. On a pc you can do that in chunks, $400 monitor $150 video card, and a few hundred processor, rather than $2000 abouts every 2 - 3 years. thats the advantage of PCs. I guess i am just more a PC guy than an Mac or iMac guy.

IBM couldn't reduce ... ( 2 days ago by TalesOfWar)
IBM couldn't reduce the power consumption and heat generation enough to put their G5's into a notebook without compromising massively on performance, so Apple went to Intel who offered them the best "performance per watt" option, plus they had the added bonus of being able to run Windows and most other OS's natively on the x86 platform which made them more appealing to switches, or people who liked the hardware but still wanted to use Windows.
A lot is down to ... ( 2 days ago by TalesOfWar)
A lot is down to Jony Ives too who designed it and every Apple product since, and their engineers who managed to get all this into a single unit like this. Jobs is just a great PR man and his passion inspires his staff to do their best, and it shows.
