I totally agree. This whole movie shocked me. I couldn't believe that the writer of Romeo and Juliet had written such a thing.
Horror to say the least. Excelent effects.

This was a horror film to say the least. I couldn't believe the author of Romeo and Juliet had written such a thing. It must have been very well recieved back in his day. What a scare.

A perfect moment. Julie Taymore has an amazing imagination, undoubtedly. Such visual interpretation of this well-known Shakespeare's tradedy (especially this scene) can't but print in remembrance. I'm not sure if anybody has already written it here, but in fact many specialists say that this play wasn't written by Shakespeare, and they try to prove it with many facts. And the others say that it was only his first play that's why it was so brutal and violent.

This play was popular in it's time, 1580's, for the same reasons then as now-- some people just love to see Gore. I read it once and I won't repeat the experience for that reason.

I guess I'll go with yes, based on what they say to her, and logically it would make sense, to keep her from writing their names. I should have thought my question through.

i was so confused when i first saw this movie, it mixes modern times with like the 1800's and at times it even looks like B.C., then when i found out it was written by Shakespeare i was even more confused when would they make the movie so confusing by mixing times together, i know a child at the beginning was reading a book but still....eh it's a good movie anyways

Her hands were cut off and her tongue was cut out so she couldn't write or speak the names of those who ravished her. There isn't anything about her breasts.
