actually there are thousands of streetable 8 second cars, its called american muscle and unlike this supra's, 8 second american v8's cars will outlast any 8 second supra

The supercharger is a 14-71 type Roots blower. It has twisted lobes and is driven by a toothed belt. The supercharger is slightly offset to the rear to provide an even distribution of air. manifold pressure is usually 56-66 PSI, but up to 74 PSI is possible. The manifold is fitted with a 200 psi burst plate. Air is fed to the compressor from throttle butterflies with a maximum area of 65 sq. in. At maximum pressure, it takes approximately 400 horsepower to drive the supercharger. Thanks to wiki

To havox, actually even a civic could beat a supra, I mean if you swapped the engine and extended the bay and TT'ed it, you know anything IS possible it just takes lots and lots and lots of money, not entirely worth it.

A NSX couldn't beat its distant cousin the Civic. The NSX is a slow car and it won't change until 2011 when they introduce the new 5.0 v10 motor. I'm an import guy but I would not buy a $80K Honda when it only comes with a wimpy 3.2L(JDM) or 3.5L(USDM) V6 that produces only 290bhp!!!

The NSX is "slow" because it's old. In 1991 when it went into production, the car was incredible. The V6 in it is still, in a lot of peoples mind, one of the Best V6 ever and IMO one of the best souding with the right exhaust. I would pay the 140K price tag (Canadian Dollar) for it.

In response to the vid description.... Comparing a dead stock Supra and a dead stock Corvette Z06, I think you know which one is going to win. The original point of muscle vs. imports was on the presumption that muscle cars were DESIGNED to be sports car, imports were mostly economy cars. There are exceptions to that, such as Skylines and Supras, but the ratio of modified Supras you see on the road vs. the number of modified Civics....which one do you think more people modify?

That is to say, you see a lot more people driving riced out Civics than sped up Supras. Now stock for stock, the Z06 kills pretty much all. Modifying it changes a lot, and it's not the best car to improve on. A Supra has a lot of room to improve on. A Z06, not so much. For a drag only application, there's a world of work that can be done to any car, but the Z06 is a great all around fast car. Most imports are not, especially stock, and usually even when modified.

why is everyone makeing a big deal about the supra being the best car to mod and that its super fast. i know supras are really good cuz a buddy of mine owns one. now, some one correct me if im wrong but i dont remember a "titan 3.4L stroker motor" coming in ANY supra. so now its not really a supra just a supra shell.
