Hopefully the MkVI will be put together better than the MkV. VW has pretty much come out and amitted that the MkV was overengineered, without much consideration for construction practicality. This is why phrases like "The Dash Rattle", "The Window Rattle" "The PCV Fix" are commonplace on GTI MkV forums. Love the idea of these cars, but the horror stories about owning a trouble probe rattletrap with only 10,000 mile son it turn me off.

i personally own an 'o7 MK5 GTI, and although I did have the PCV issue, it was fixed in about 30min and was free (recall). I don't have any rattles, and honestly, its one of the better made VW's. It's decently fast and handles excellently. The Civic Si handles slightly better but the VW GTI is definitely faster.

and you can use it for a lot more than the si. I have an 06 which is pretty much the same and I love beating dbag civic drivers. I love the new look GTI though and adding 10 more HP will be a nice addition

I own an GTI as well! Glad they kept the same alloy wheel style! Just hope they could include OSRAM LEDs headlights as well!

the mk5 0-100 time of 6.9 secs with DSG is under rated. with a good launch, it will do a 6.5
the mk6 with a little more HP and a good launch might be able to do it under 5 secs

I like everything but the grill because it is just so dang tiny. I loved the front of the MkV because of its simplicity. And I'll agree. It's a GTI, not a Lancer. If any car in their lineup needs a change, it's the Jetta.
