thats the common misconception. American English example: the definition of: fly- [1. an insect; 2. crotch area of pants; 3. an action; 4. hip or cool] to, too, and two- all sound exactly the same but all have completely different meanings. depends on the context in which they are used. Chinese depends on sounds not context. there is much less thinking involved.

Well really people who have English as their native tongue(at least from England) shouldn't find the sounds so difficult as the roots are the same.
Þ became TH, we made to A for the different sound they make which are A and Á. The grammar is hard, but I've actually heard a linguistic professor say that Danish is harder, because they write and pronounce everything so differently, skipping letters and such. While Icelandic is written and spoken
