fenders and marshalls. guitar volume not maxed out to keep a lot of 'screetch' to the picking, guitar tone at 10 and the distortion(i think he uses amp) at 9. Add some subtle delay to it and you'll get pretty close. Also he uses a noise suppressor to reduce the single-coil humm. Oh and he plays an extreme hybrid of string gauges. I think the trebble strings are .008s and the wounded are .052 on the E string, it makes for a very bright and present high/mid sound and a chunky 'sustainy' low end.

If you ever get to see a close up it's very high on his guitars. I saw him at guitar center in Atl. and the action was extremely high on his strat. I was like WOW!! lol
