Dear sir. It is an unfortunate reality that the American Government has not been of its people for some time. It is in sense a civil war where control by a few has been seized during a period of apathy and blind trust.

Sir, I think there are many places on earth that would harbor terrorists. Its quite possible that we are spending billions to take the target of the american people to the enemy, creating opportunity for them to kill, while spending our dollars to do so.
And quite frankly sir, terrorism is very easy, the true aspects may lie in prevention, and largely in understanding why attacks on us have to be sensational to be considered wins. This is a byproduct of our oil dependance.

The Iraq war is going to be devastating to Barak in the General Election. Just listen to this interview! Peace, security, justice, stability...these things are totally outside the equation for him. He's fixed in a time table because he's beholden to the extreme left. He cares nothing about the effect of his policy...just that it's popular.
My assessment: He's lying. He can not and will not pull troops out.
The fact that he voted against the war is the stuff if trivial pursuit: IRRELEVANT

I understand your displeasure.
How dare she ask tough questions? How dare she ask him to flesh out his rose colored policies? How dare she push him to give real answers on the most critical issue our nation faces? And for that matter, how dare George ask him about a personal association with a man who thinks that bombing gov't buildings is an acceptable civic activity?

I think he's simply more interested in American interests than Iraq interests. Like he said, if they could not create peace, security, justice and stability in Iraq in 7 years it's not going to happen in 14 or longer. In the mean time American interests (ie: the economy) is suffering as a direct result. A long drawn out war is what killed the Soviet Union. It would be irresponsible to allow the same to happen to the US regardless of what excuse you use to justify it.

If Al-Qaeda is gone in Iraq then you're not winning you have WON there and the focus should shift back to Afghanistan and the hunt for Bin Laden and other Al-Qaeda leaders and cells. You accuse Obama of not offering any answers but that proves you have not listened. He is not trying to stop the fight against Al-Qaeda. He has accused the war in Iraq of distracting the US from that objective. You're free to your opinions but you'd make a stronger case if you actually knew Obama's positions.

Just want to correct myself from my post below. I misread you and thought you were claiming Al-Qaeda was gone in Iraq. My apologies. With that said I'll add that you're fighting an ideology. The major cells in Iraq were gone but the US presence in Iraq has led to small groups of civilians forming their own cells. Brute force can not solve that. It's like trying to kill a religion. The only way neutralize those enemies is through diplomacy and education. Bullets can not kill ideas and beliefs.

I wish you were right about diplomacy and education. Unfortunately, you are not. The idea that poverty and ignorance are what lead to terrorism (and thus diplomacy and education will solve it) is contrary to fact. Take a look at the terrorism in Europe (e.g. Paris). You are right that ideology is the issue...you are wrong that diplomacy is the solution. Military containment and regional allies are the only effective tools for combating such deeply held hatred. It sucks, but it's true.
