I really don't like tuners because they fail were most needed> acceleration and top speed. I think muscles and exotics specially get that job done easily.
Chevrolet Corvette/Dodge Viper SRT-10 or Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren/Lamborghini Murcielago.

Exotics suck in Carbon (except AudiR8 and CarreraGT)...
Believe me tuners can be good... if you know how to turn without loosing too much speed, then you don't need much acceleration to do good times. There are some settings that make EVO only 1,5 sec slower than Audi !
But I can't deny that Corvette has a good potential too if you can control it. Viper has an horrible handling, it's only good at drift or speedtrap, not standard driving.
This is my point of view after 19 months ;)

I have played Career Mode several times using several different vehicles to win it and Exotics are the most competent, and besides, the fastest car in Carbon is the Murcielgo. I proved it by tuning several cars in the same way all the time and believe me, the R8 gets only to 420, Carrera 515 and Murcielago 518.

lol, tell me where you can reach 518 in a normal race ? I always wondered if there really is a steering wheel on the murcielago...
top speed is the least important setting, it's totaly useless if the car can't turn.
when I said "19 months", I meant 19 months playing online. Finishing career mode many times brings nothing else than a waste of time.
my EVO setup leads "only" to 346kmh, and it is more than enough to kick murcielago on EVERY track.

Well, that's my opinion. Although you are right about that, steering helps a lot, but my style of driving includes or either overtaking acceleration (Corvette-Viper)or overwhelming top speed (SLR-Carrera-Murcielago)
I am really tired of replying back to you (no offence)but remember, its my style. YOUR style is overtaking cornering.
