fiscally he is nothing like a democrat. He is antitax, against universal healthcare, against social programs. Democrats expect the government to hold their hand from cradle to grave... republicans do not. Paul is different from the GOP in that he actually practices fiscal responsibility. He is also the only republican i know of that cares about civil liberties. Ron Paul transcends both parties. He fits best in the CP or LP. He is a constitutionalist. He's a total throwback to G. Washington.

This is not true at al. If you read his book the revolution, he does go into global warming, and says that he would put a tariff on emissions like they used to have back in the day, until it was suspended due to the indusstrial revolution. Pollution harms other people. Ron Paul believes government should get involved when people are harming other people.

As far as I know there have never been tariffs on emissions. Tariffs are useful in part to keep our industrial base from being exported. A carbon tax would be a good start but that's more fed. gov. which is contrary to the RP/libertarian philosophy. As for RP's stance, for example, he favors abo
lishing the EPA. That does not help address the crisis at hand. Its another bad idea.

They aren't even doing a good job. 40% of global warming is from the burning of coal for electricity. Why arent they doing something?
