chirp Ive been doing it 40 years and had six schools with hundreds of students . I can probably still be found on one of the NJMAA websites. The main reason I am against TKD is that it is actually teaching bad techniques to its students and ripping them off at the same time. They teach the rising block to protect ones head. Wont work. Teach unecessary fancy kicks dangerous in the streets and don't even teach to keep guards up at all times in a fight ! TOTAL RIPOFF !

you know what your right.. i get taught olympic sparring and also street defence. not giving in to how u say tkd is garbage some places actually spend time helping their students to help their self defence.and yes the instructor did say at earlier times a high block wont always protect your head .thats why he taught us to dodge and practice reflexes. but i talked to a 4th degree from a diffrent school and his forms of blocking and kicking were terrible. hard to find a good tkd school now days.
