First off, some Christians ARE poor, but other Christians are quite well off; Thank you for your concern. Secondly, The bible does not specifically mention kangaroos and polar bears on the ark. Perhaps you ought to look up these things that you so ardently think we believe.. I also don't recall the bible saying anything about God being a "sky-god", or a god who "endorses genocide, rape and child sexual abuse.." I'd love to hear where God condones that... perhaps right after the ten commandments?

But then, how do we have over 400 breeds of dogs, if there could have been only 2 dogs on the ark, and there are obviously not enough genes for that kind of variation? Did god come after the flood and fix that? Did he set that task for Noah only to make him suffer a little? But he was a good man, wtf? So the bible's god really must be some kind of psycho.

It says two of every kind, not type.
Which meant families. So for instance... a coyote, jackle, and dog would be in the same "kind". But he only needed to bring one of each kind.

So writing about rape, genocide, and all the rest of evil's facets in the bible means that God endorses it? Hardly. Authors write about every kind of atrocity all the time; to tell a story. Does this mean that they are giggling with glee about it? No. The bible is a story about the world; if you haven't noticed, the world is filled with the same kind of disgusting acts today.

i object. there were certain events that occured in the bible that involved Jesus directly approving rape. there are many examples, i will just point out one: "A day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst. And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle: the city shall be taken, houses plundered, WOMEN RAVISHED; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city." (Zechariah 14:1-2 NAB)
