Imagine if Chanel and Schiaparelli became friends instead of rivals. The two birth mothers of 'knit into fashion' may have been different in style, but they shared the pursuit of a vision, just through differing eyes and minds.
Miss Jean Brodie adopted Chanel's classic signitures, a quality of her style we can now see in retrospect, while more overtly avant-garde dressers favoured Schiaparelli.
If they had played together at nursery, and shared their toys, who knows what a more cordial respect may have produced...
With a light heart and a smile, this season we play with and explore this idea with our needles...
