Religion is a means to an end; even sometimes being a scapegoat for greed.. That end usually being perpetual happiness in some form. This is a grand promise indeed. To fufill that promise to themselves many persons of all demoninations follow people they believe can bridge the gap. The problem is that many of those "prophets" are actually greedy persons looking to use their congregation for selfish gain. Religion didnt cause holy wars, it was merely a rallying call for the uneducated masses.
