| I agree that a good chunk of what's termed "indie" is vapid and effete; but a generalization that reduces everything non-mainstream to acoustic-playing "dudes with beards" is simply uninspired pejorism. It's no more original a sentiment than it was 20 years ago, when people said all 80s music was synthesized shit. |

| I agree, but it's definitely hard to find decent new stuff these days. Most of the good records I've liked lately = older bands like Army of Anyone and Sleater-Kinney. But then there's nothing like a bit of qiuet before a storm. Hopefully, anyway. |
