Maybe because most prominent religions in the world are aggressive, murderous totalitarians that oppose an individual's very right to an independent opinion? the way i see it, for the majority of the 'extreme' religious people, religion is jst another way for them to feel superior to others, so in any situation, any1 who disagree's with them they can basically jst go 'well ur going to hell and im going to heaven so im better', jst another reason for people to feel superior to others, and thats why a lot of the non-religious people get so wound up about it.

The Bible grants its followers the right to discriminate by stating that Christianity and Yahweh superior. Atrocities follow naturally from the human nature. Christians are no better and no more ill intentioned than nazis or communists because they accept the basic totalitarian statement. If you do not believe this, I dare say you are not a Christian nor a Yahwist. But if you insist on associating yourself with this band of thugs, accept the shit flung at you.

Agreed, but there's a difference between the two even though the bible is called God's word. I believe in God's love not the hateful judgemental actions of mankind. And I agree that they're no better, EVERY group has commited atrocities and I'm not saying any of them should get away with it. My point simply is punish the INDIVIDUAL for their actions not the group. If my friend murdered someone that doesn't mean I should be prosecuted because I call them a friend. Make sense now?

I'm saying the individual is responsible for the individual's actions, not the group. Why should someone be judged for an action they neither supported nor took part in? For instance 9/11 terrorists, some may have been Muslim but that doesn't mean ALL Muslims are terrorists or that all terrorists are Muslim.
