My point to FireRupee was that legislatures do exist and function without upper houses. Now on to your point. Actually, France and the UK do have states with their own separtate powers, similare to ours. Ever heard of Scotland and Whales? France has even more "proivincial" govenments, not to mention local. And guess what Zooburt, they manage this without an undemocratic arstocratic senate. You are a racist because you like Hitler. I you are ignorant because you have unsubstantiated arguments.

I support your freedom of speech and thought but the whole government(not just the senate)is corrupt, and abolishing one branch or the other isn't going to change anything other then give another branch more power to corrupt. To end if you can't be civil enough to allow other people to give their ideas or arguments with out falling back on pointless insults then who are you to think anyone will hear or want to hear your message?

The House is less corruptable because 1) it costs much less money to run for a House seat and 2) individual Representatives do not hold much power, as Senators do. I agree with you, there will still be corruption when the Senate is abolished, however, the level of corruption will be greatly redu

but when the senate is removed all the dickholes who would want to run for the senate would run for a house seat, then the house would slowly transform into just another senate, thats run by nobody but upper class assholes with only special interests for the coporations that tear apart this country, these persons' last interests are people who they should caring about, the lower and middle class people who are struggling to survive here.

You dont understand. The super rich can not have a monopoly over the House as they do over the senate. Because House districts are so small it requires a minimal amount of money to get a message out to the voters. In contrast to the large amount of money required to get a message out to an entire state. Yes, when the senate is abolished the dickholes will run for the House, but the difference is that regular people will actually be able to run against and beat them.

The fact that we have the House of Representatives and the Senate goes back to the beginning of this country. Big states said they should get more power due to the fact that they had more land while small states demanded an equal amount of power for being a unique state. They settled it by creating a bicameral legislature. Now the big states get what they want (The House of Representatives) and the small states get what they want (The Senate). And don't we vote for Senators and House Reps?
